( Iwrote this song when I lived in Tucson, I worked with horses during the days, and was a waiter at a pretty good restaurant at night,,,after the restaurant closed we'd head out the back door, smoke a joint and buy a bottle of their good wine...and that part of the parking lot I used to call the cement bathtub...anyway, anyone that knows me knows I never talk about the weather, because it is what it is and Inever argue with nature, it was one of those rare hot days when it decided to be overcast, giving some relief from the heat...and this guy Cactus was making a flippant remark because he couldn't stand a moment of silence...
A NUMBER AT THE CEMENT BATHTUB
I was enjoying the cool breeze of an overcast day,
when Cactus complained he didn't like it this way -
The clouds aren't so bad, I said,
they come and go, just like people do ---
And when he asked me if theres a choice
I had to tell him, not much ---
Yeah well, Cactus turned to me & said he'd rather have sunshine,
I told him, that comes & goes too ------
